Summer Vibes, and Warmer Weather

It feels like it took forever to get here, but it is finally flip flop season! We have had a zillion "end of the year" parties, awards cermonies, and concerts at school. Hopefully folks have uncovered their patio furniture, and dusted off the backyard firepit. ☀️As Midwesterners, we proudly endure tough winters, counting down the days until summer!


With warmer weather, I have happily jumped into "Pasta Salad Season" - and this has been my go-to recipe: Easy Vegan Pasta Salad • It Doesn't Taste Like Chicken

I love that this is easy to customize and does not require perfect measuring! I have been able to get all of the ingredients from Aldi, which keeps this affordable to make as a side dish for our family, or to bring to a gathering.


We are all juggling a lot and it can be easy to ignore your health and well-being. I urge you to prioritize yourself just as you prioritize putting gas in your car (ouch!), doing laundry, or running to the grocery store. You need to be the best version of yourself to accomplish all of these seemingly normal tasks.


And, always, offer yourself 💗grace.


For me, an important part of my self care is making time to be outside. Whether it be a walk around our neighborhood or a walk in the woods, it helps to heal my heart.

I put my phone on silent and soak up the sounds of the birds.

I try to slow down and really notice.

Notice the sun on my skin, notice the plants and notice the flowers.

Chair Yoga at LVC

This class is designed for students who may be recovering from injury, managing chronic pain, have limited range, or folks who want to avoid going down to the floor. Chair Yoga will offer all of the benefits of a traditional yoga class while utilizing the chair to support your practice. This class will increase strength, circulation, and flexibility while offering some ease and relaxation. 🪑

The Magic is in the Details!

Lakeview Center yoga studio is stocked with props! There are cork blocks to bring the floor closer to you, long sturdy straps to help deepen your forward folds, large bolsters to support your restful poses, blankets for a cozy cushion, foam blocks for soft support, and extra yoga mats in case you forget yours at home.

This beginner's class is perfect for folks who would like to take their time while finding a little flow. We incorporate trasitional yoga poses in a more gentle, accessible way, while focusing on strength and flexibility.


➡️7:30-8:30pm Vinyasa

This class is designed for a more experienced practitioner and will focus on connecting breath and movement. Vinyasa Yoga will get your whole body moving, increase your heart rate, build strength, and offer tools to reduce stress.


Tuesdays at Prairie Lakes 6/2-8/11

My favorite way to start the day is logging on with my friends for Mindful Morning (online 6-6:45am).

Take time to gently wake up your body, so you are ready for whatever the day brings your way.

Next session at LVC starts soon. Please register ASAP to ensure you get a spot in the class you want. There has been some issues with the online registration process, so please register by phone or in person. We are always adding special events and pop-up classes, so please follow us on social media to ensure you stay in the loop!


Oh, also, we are doing a little family🛣️ traveling this summer. There will be a few classes that I will have a sub for and a few classes we will reschedule. Stay tuned!
