Gina Cornejo-Litke is a graduate of the Live Love Teach training program, receiving her 200 hour RYT Certification under the instruction of Deborah Williamson. She holds a Live Love Teach certification for Yoga Personal Training and has clients within the Chicago-based, Midwest Stunts. Practicing at various Chicago studios since 2006, she became attracted to the abundance of mind/body benefits that Power Vinyasa Yoga and Bikram Yoga brought to her. Gina has taken on the position at Twisted Tree Yoga to explore and connect with her fabulous new community, Des Plaines. Visualizing beyond her mat, she intends to combine her international travel knowledge and her Power Vinyasa Yoga experience into yoga-adventure tours abroad. Her wanderlust has previously taken her to various cities in Costa Rica, France, Spain, Netherlands, Germany, Peru, and within 2013 she will be teaching yoga in the Dominican Republic and Mexico. Her classes are spunky and compassionate, spirited and sweet, with a focus on empowerment through encouragement – come as you are!
Amanda Elliott received her 200 hour Hatha Yoga Teacher Training certification through Chi-Town Shakti in 2012. In an effort to understand and "live" yoga more holistically. Amanda also completed Meditation teacher training through the Chicago Ashram and is committed to a regular yoga and meditation practice of her own. Amanda is passionate about sharing these invaluable practices that have become an integral part of her life. Amanda has also witnessed, through her work as a Clinical Social Worker, the positive effect such yoga and meditation tools have had on therapy clients. She is consistently impressed by how what is learned and experienced through practice can be applied to day to day circumstances, often with profound results.
Grace Kellawon is a 200 RYT and 500 RYT teacher certified by Yoga Alliance. She was trained at Yoga East, a 40 year old studio and school, one of the oldest in the U.S. This is an Ashtanga school where the Mysore style of practice is offered to its teachers. Among the classes included in my training is the chanting of the Sri Guru Gita and Sri Rudram.
From this formal training she guided patients with movement disorders (Parkinson's) for nearly 2 years where she developed a very gentle class for those who need to go at a more meditative pace. She recently published "Yoga Meditations" which was reviewed in YOGAChicago.

Emily Bowles has a background in martial arts and was drawn to yoga initially to improve her strength and flexibility. But soon, she realized how quickly her yoga practice had begun to increase her sense of calm, reduce her stress levels, and generally improve her quality of life. After becoming more involved in yoga and the yoga community, Emily realized that her occupation as research chemist wasn’t the best path for her life. She left her job and decided that she wanted her career to be more focused on helping people become more happy and healthy
Emily completed a 200-hour, Yoga Alliance Certified Teacher training program at Moksha Yoga Center in Chicago and is always continuing her yoga education with specialty trainings and classes with master teacher from all over the world, in addition to pursuing a nursing degree at Loyola University. In classes with Emily, expect a practice that is mindful of alignment and incorporates flow with an emphasis on breath-based movement and meditation. Emily understands that no one’s experience of yoga is the same and her goal is to help every person discover how this practice has benefits that extend beyond the body and can bring positive changes in all aspects of life.
Julie Penn has been practicing yoga for many years and completed her Hatha Yoga teacher training at The Temple of Kriya Yoga. Through years of personal practice, ongoing workshops, and trainings with invaluable teachers, her passion for yoga grows stronger. Julie is convinced that the positive healing effects of yoga benefit all who participate. Her personal style is one that focuses on breath, body awareness, and proper alignment--allowing students to feel safe, explore and challenge their bodies, and find balance and peace throughout their practice.

Sheila's yoga journey started when she was 12 years old. Her mother would wake her and her siblings up at 5 am to practice Kundalini yoga together. It was a spiritual experience, heightened by the sacred hour of the morning and practicing with her family. Eventually, she started exploring other forms of yoga with a variety of teachers around the world. She completed her 200 hour yoga teacher certification program at Three Sisters Yoga in New York City. She is an educator by profession and has worked with students and yogis of all ages. Sheila incorporates Hatha, Vinyasa and Kundalini into her yoga practice. She also emphasizes attentive breathing and meditation.
Kaili received her 200 hour RYT certification in Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga with the Yoga Alliance in 2012 through It’s Yoga, Las Vegas. Her yoga journey began in 2007 while pursuing a Bachelor of Arts in Dance at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas when she enthusiastically studied and practiced various styles of yoga. After years of practicing different forms, Kaili looked further into establishing a deeper personal practice and found it in the traditional style of Ashtanga. The set series is both challenging and rewarding on the mind and body, encouraging one to practice daily and all is coming. Ashtanga has taught her to honor her body and herself for where she is that day as the mind is the cause of both bondage and liberation. Currently, Kaili is pursuing an MFA in Stage Design at Northwestern and offers free stress relieving lessons to N.U. students. It is Kaili’s lifelong goal to share her own personal practice with anyone and everyone in hopes they discover a deeper personal practice of their own.
Kasia Wereszczynska has experience in working with children, adolescents, families and adults. Originally from Poland,Kasia has developed an appreciation for different cultures and works to build a healing environment that focuses on personal growth and positive change. Kasia graduated from the Illinois School of Psychology in Chicago with a Master’s degree in Community Counseling. She has extensive training and experience in crisis intervention, cognitive-behavioral therapy and positive psychology. Her areas of specialty include anxiety, depression, addiction, trauma, self-esteem concerns and stress management.
Kasia’s other passions include the art of Yoga and women’s empowerment. After completing 200 hour yoga certification from Zen Den Yoga School in Florida, Kasia began to realize how important the relationship is between the mind and body. She continues to deepen her knowledge of yoga by attending local classes and seminars and incorporates this knowledge in her personal and professional endeavors, specifically through her non-profit organization, In Her Shoes Foundation, which focuses on women’s empowerment, leadership and philanthropy. Kasia has a gift for lifting the spirits of those around her making women and men feel stronger, more confident and at peace. You will leave her class feeling grounded, lighter and more vibrant.

Twisted Tree Yoga offers classes that brings yoga to all members of the community. Classes designed for adults new to yoga, experienced yoga students, children and families. Our studio allows people to learn yoga in a noncompetitive atmosphere with attention paid to developing the full yogic experience.
